Maiduk Tailing Dam
This dam is located in 42 km from north east of Shahr-e-Babak Township in Kerman province and in 132 km from North West of Sarcheshmeh copper mine in mountainous area with the average height of 2610 m from sea level.
The climate of this region is cold in winters and in summer time it has a temperate weather. Until now the maximum measured temperature is 35 c in summer and in winter the minimum degree is -15 °.
The maximum rate of rainfall in this location is also about 250 mm in year.
Mobin Co. with a contract No. 3194 dated 22.Nov.2006 with Iran National Copper Industry Co., which includes the elevation of the second phase of sedimentary dam of Maiduk copper complex, has started its operation as Joint Venture with Ahan Ajin Mining Co.
This dam is one of the Fragmentation rock ones. The operation of this dam contains reposing more than 6 soil and stony zones; zones 1 & A1 include sand from local resources; zones 2A & 2B contain the filter material produced from alluvium local resources or from fragmentation rocks, or were transported from some other places. Finally zones 3, 4 include the fragmentation rock.
